CHRISTMAS RAFFLE & CAKE SALE


                                                                          
Our annual
Christmas Raffle and Cake Sale
is being held at the Centre 
on Saturday next 10th November from 10 am to 12.30 pm.
Please support, as we badly need funds to support the running of the Centre. 

Come along on the day, and if you can bake,
we would really appreciate some home-baked goods.
We have some valuable prizes,
such as Cash, Home-made Patchwork Quilt,
and lots of Hampers and Vouchers.

 Cards (30s) starting back in the Dr Martin Day Centre, starting at 8pm every Tuesday till Christmas.        Everyone welcome, prizes are Turkey and Hams but anyone can take prize money instead.      Tea, coffee and refreshments available during the break.

The first Thursday of every month from 11 am to 12.30 pm, I will hold a clinic to help any older people in the community with any issues and problems with their medical card or any other type of forms.  Call to the centre and I will try to help people to fill these in.
Would you consider becoming a Friend of the Dr Martin Centre as a volunteer?  Can you spare a couple of hours? Call in for a chat with the member; have a quiz or play a game. Give us a song, or maybe share your hobbies or craft skills, you will be very welcome. If you would like to volunteer call into the centre, or ring Alice Kersey on 087-4611309-051387111.
If anyone in surrounding areas would like to come to the Dr Martin Day centre, and need transport we would be happy to try and arrange transport.  If lack of transport is preventing people from coming to centre please contact the centre and we will do our best to sort the situation. Everyone is always welcome here call in for a cup of tea and a chat. Dinner is 7 euro per day.  Afternoon tea and cake is 3 euro per day.  If not paying 7 euro for the day (sic).
Dinner with Dessert for only 6 euro can be delivered or collected in the centre; ring in order before 11.30 each morning on – 051-387111 / 0874611309.
The Complementary Therapist will be here at the centre every second Tuesday.  18th of September - 2 appointments left for this date.  To avail of these services, you need to be a
member of the centre, and you cannot get an appointment unless you book in advance.
The Chiropodist is also here every second Wednesday at the centre.  Please ring for an appointment (051) 387111. Next date for appointments is Wednesday the 19TH of September which is now fully booked. The next date for bookings is Wednesday the 3rd of October. Please, when making an appointment, come at the allocated time and if you need to cancel please do so, well in advance, as we have quite a lot of people waiting for an appointment. The price is 20 euro per visit, and membership for centre is 10 euro per year.
We have music every Wednesday afternoon by our local musicians Tuller, Seán O’Brien, Gerry Walsh and Bim Connors, and I would like to thank all the musicians for all their help and support in the centre.  We have Mediation on Thursday morning and Bingo on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. We have shower facilities and hair washing service in the centre.  If anyone would like to avail of this service, please drop in.
 Eyes on the Road mobile opticians are here by appointment only. If anyone needs to see the opticians, please call to centre.

'Tempus Fugit'!

QUILT AUCTION THIS FRIDAY!


A Fundraising  Table Quiz for the Dr Martin Day Centre will be held in the Cotton Mill Portlaw on Friday the 23rd of March at 8.15 pm. A table of 4  is 20 Euro or 5 Euro per person and also a raffle for some great prizes. On the night we will also hold an Auction for a beautiful handmade patchwork quilt. After the quiz we will have music by D.J. Alan;  so please come along to support this excellent service for the older members of our community for badly needed funds.

Cards every Tuesday night at 8pm in the Dr Martin Centre; all welcome come along; cash prizes.
